This article is a bit lax on grammar, but gives five “brilliant” reasons why using hashtags in Facebook makes sense.
I’m not sold on the brilliancy, but a couple stood out:
•It will allow companies to create cross-platform solutions and measurement.
•It puts better structure to Facebook and will allow better search-ability.
What we also have to look into is the next claim, that we need to “make sure you have an API – allowing the developer community to tap into hashtags, trending topics, etc. – this is something critical for the success of the service.”
