“We should all enter every issue with the very real possibility that we might be wrong this time.”
Why you should read “The ‘Other Side’ Is Not Dumb”:
–If you find yourself thinking that someone whose opinion differs from yours / your friend group is “not one of us,” “wrong,” or outright “dumb.” (Racism, sexism, and the like do not apply here.)
–If you find that you tend to link social media findings with “real life” beliefs as evidence of allies (“This person who posts about classic Doctor Who and can’t stand Moffat also works at the Humane Society! They’re in my camp!”).
–If in addition to the above, you become disproportionately dismayed when they hold a differing opinion on other things that matter to you.
–Even if this isn’t you at all but you’re fascinated by what sharing stuff on the internet could really mean beyond the simple “Look at this!”
