750 Words. That’s 3 pages of writing.
The catch: Every day.
I have to admit, it’s tempting. I’m already trying to do a blog post here every day this year. Sometimes I have to play catch-up, but it was a decision that made sense to me back when it belatedly hatched in January.
I’ve also got a lot of stories in me waiting to turn me into an author, not “just” a writer.
And then I come across 750 Words, which has the rather awesome idea of being an online, private place to write, not blog: A place to think out loud without filtering, to brain-dump without editing, to get things outside of your head.
“This is between you and you,” says the site.
It even tracks things like this!
Interestingly enough, I find that the words flow the most longhand. I put pen or pencil to paper and I’m off.
I don’t DO it as much as I should, due to various reasons including mulishness. Also, my penmanship has always been an odd mashup of print and cursive, and my writer’s callus has quite disappeared…
If you give it a try, let me know!
