Comfortable shoes.
That is the number one thing you should bring to Microsoft Ignite.
And get the kind with removable insoles so you can add in orthopedic soles. I did not do that for SPC14 in Vegas. I subsequently regretted it.
What you don’t need to bring: T-shirts. Pack a bare bones bag, of course, but you’ll get more t-shirts than you ever needed from all the vendors. In all sorts of colors!
First time at Ignite? Read this What to Bring to Ignite thread from their TweetJam.
Another tip from the Jam: Keep a OneNote of contacts, ideas, resources, pictures, and everything else you’ll learn and want later.
Now, here’s where I’ll be for sure:
I’ll be participating on stage in these fine events:
SHOW, not just tell, the value and productivity of your Yammer networks through tyGraph analytics! | Sept 27, 2:00 PM | Tuesday
>>Add to your schedule now: BRK2023, Lvl 200 | Show the value of your network using analytics.
A first for Ignite: Hi-jinks, camaraderie, and great insight into the frontlines of collaboration, with a panel of Yammer MVPs! | Sept 29, 10:45 AM | Thursday
>>Add to your schedule now: BRK2018, Lvl 200 | Hear stories from the frontline of collaboration: Yammer MVPs share their lessons.
I’m also scheduled for a Community Lounge Spotlight Talk, in which I’ll give a 30 minute interview, out of which several minutes will be used in a big compilation video with other Spotlight talkers & content.
All Microsoft MVPs will receive a pin to wear, so feel free to come up to any of us and ask us stuff!
For example, ask me anything about Yammer External Networks, from building to adoption to ongoing engagement tactics, and what analytics you can get behind it all to prove Yammer’s worth to your boss.
Or just say hello. We’re all in this together!
There are many more breakout sessions and talks about Yammer to fill in your schedule.
Will I see you there?
