When you send your story out into the world, you think you’re ready for it: You’ve put your best efforts into it, knowing all along that you can’t please everybody and you have to be okay with that; you’ve looked at it so many, many times, scouring for the least little typo or unfortunate nuance that could mar the experience. You know you, your beta readers, your editors, and your publisher could still have missed something.

But all along, through the exhaustion and the energy, you’ve got that desire to get your work OUT THERE. And you’re not going to let anything get in the way.

You still want people to like it, though! So I was hoping the reviewers would at least find the story appealing; despite knowing how awesome Readers’ Favorite can be, I still didn’t expect such a warm, thoughtful, insightful response.
