The Crystal Kite Awards by SCBWI

I’ve decided to enter the annual Crystal Kite Awards, a peer-given award to recognize great books from 15 SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators) regional divisions around the world.

The rules are very specific:

  • Self-published books cannot be nominated.
  • I’m allowed to promote the award, but not my specific title, lest I be disqualified.

You do have to be an SCBWI member to vote, so I’m really just putting this out here in the hope of good vibes!

Here is the link to last year’s winners, including more information.

Good luck to everyone who’s entered!

Meet Me at Greendale Gallery Night (It’s Back!)

After being chillingly and (dis)gustingly rained out in May, Greendale has graciously found a spot for Gallery Night in June!

INSTA Portable, packable, entertain-able!

The official name might not actually be “Greendale Gallery Night,” but that’s what I’m calling it right now and that’s where it’ll be. 🙂

  • Friday, June 15, 2018, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Broad Street, Greendale, WI
  • Where exactly I’ll be: Under the big tent! Here is a downloadable PDF with all the vendors: Gallery Night Layout [PDF]

I’ll be raffling off one each of these awesome 11×17 posters for my upcoming books, The Squeezor is Coming! (out in August 2018) and Hush, Mouse!

Budsies did a phenomenal job bringing him to life. And yes, I do have plans for smaller Squeezors. . .

I hope you come see me at the Greendale Gallery Night!
